Appears in Vintage Hollywood Posters 7 CATALOG SOLD OUT The image at right appears in the auction catalog we published as shown above and was sold long ago and we do NOT have it available for purchase. An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Lone Rider, the 1930 Louis King cowboy western ("The screen's daredevil cowboy Buck Jones in a thrilling breath-taking all talking western") starring Buck Jones (his first talking movie!), Vera Reynolds, Harry Woods, George C. Pearce, and Silver (Jones' horse!). Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were. This was one of the few movies where Silver was billed on the posters! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good to very good. The borders of the poster were somewhat tattered, but they have been really expertly mended. Some parts of the borders have new paper, and others have touch up, and it is so well done that it is difficult to tell what is what. There was small paper loss at each crossfold. There were some creases and small tears down the vertical foldline and some creases on the other foldlines. There were some light smudges in the light colored background areas. The poster was really expertly restored! It looks great, even from inches away! Note that the person who restored the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges, and there are a few creases and tiny tears in the right of the bottom blank border.
