An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Some Like It Hot, the 1939 George Archainbaud Atlantic City New Jersey romantic comedy musical ("Based on a play by Ben Hecht and Gene Fowler"; about a fast talking man who runs a sideshow on the famous Boardwalk in Atlantic City, and his friend who has a band and a girl who wants to be a professional singer) starring Bob Hope, Shirley Ross, Gene Krupa (billed as "Gene Krupa and his orchestra"), Una Merkel, Rufe Davis, Bernard Nedell, Harry Barris, and Frank Sully. Of course, everyone is familiar with the 1959 movie with the same name as this, because it is a classic Marilyn Monroe/Billy Wilder comedy. But next to nobody remembers this movie from 20 years prior to it, and first release movie paper from it is extremely rare! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tears and small paper loss scattered down the vertical fold, with a lesser amount of wear on the horizontal folds, and some tears and paper loss in parts of the borders.
