An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Bobbe Arnst (born Leone Christoffersen) was an actress from the 1920 to the 1930s. She only appeared in a handful of movies, including: Wine, Women and Song, Torch Singer, and Beloved. Arnst was also Johnny Weissmuller's second wife (they were married from 1931 to 1933), and they divorced after he achieved major stardom in "Tarzan the Ape Man", at which point she married a non-actor and retired from movies. She passed away in 1980 at the age of 77.
Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Bobbe Arnst! It has a very sad story behind it. As noted above, Bobbe (nicknamed "Bobs") was married to Johnny Weissmuller in 1931. She gave him this photo in 1932, and wrote "Johnny dear - You are my song of love, always, Bobs". Someone wrote on the back that when he told her he was divorcing her, he gave her this picture back! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic.

As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.

Condition: good to very good. The photo was used in Modern Screen magazine and it was trimmed on its blank borders, and there is a printer's crop mark in the left blank border.
