An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More)

Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window, the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) thriller ("The master of suspense brings you his masterpiece!"; "Based on the short story by Cornell Woolrich"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; about a man who breaks his leg and is forced to stay at his home until he's better; during this time he observes his neighbors and does some voyeuristic detective work) starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart; as Jeff), Grace Kelly (as Lisa), Wendell Corey (as Detective Lt. Doyle), Thelma Ritter (as Stella), Raymond Burr (as Lars Thorwald), Judith Evelyn (as Miss Lonelyhearts), Georgine Darcy (as Miss Torso), Jesslyn Fax (as Miss Hearing Aid), Rand Harper, Havis Davenport (Harper and Davenport played the "newlyweds"), and Ross Bagdasarian (as the "Songwriter"). Note that Raymond Burr had appeared in movies for seven years before this, but always had minor roles, usually playing the "heavy". It would be three more years before his big break in 1957, when he became TV's "Perry Mason"!

Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked. This means the poster was backed onto a board backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards.

Condition: good to very good. prior to paperbacking, there were tears in the top border; there was a V-shaped tear that extended 1" into the top border at upper left and a Y-shaped tear that extended into the top border at upper right; the poster had rough creases along the foldlines; it was somewhat tattered down the left and right borders, and new paper has been very carefully placed over much of the old paper (it was very well done, and I think most people would not realize it unless it was specifically pointed out to them); there was a piece out of the border at lower left that slightly extended into the temple of Kelly's face at lower left (approximately 1/4"), but it was expertly repaired, and I doubt hardly anyone would realize it was done; there were some other creases and scuffs within the image, but all have been expertly repaired. The poster is nicer than the above makes it sound! I much prefer this sort of restoration, where you can still see the restoration from inches away, because it means that the poster has not been "dipped in paint" in order to make the restored areas indistinguishable from the rest, because this sort of restoration means there is far less paint on the poster. This poster looks great from any distance away (although you can see very slight signs of the restoration from a distance), and I would think most collectors would be quite happy to display this great poster on their wall!
