An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Kindled Courage, the 1923 William Worthington silent romantic mistaken identity cowboy western (about a mild-mannered cowboy who is run out of one town, and while on a freight train to another, is mistaken for the person who caught bank robbers, and he is made a sheriff, for which he is ill equipped!) starring Hoot Gibson, Beatrice Burnham, Harold Goodwin, Harry Tenbrook and J. Gordon Russell. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that there is a real oddity about this card. It appears that Hoot Gibson is surely holding a gun in his hand, and it has been censored, but the censoring was done prior to the printing of the card! Yet this is definitely a first release lobby card, so surely this was intentional. We have previously auctioned some lobby cards that were like this, but those were likely from 1934, during a period of confusion over what could be shown after Joseph Breen had taken charge of Hays Code enforcement in 1934. However, this card predates that by 11 years, and we have never before seen this on a 1920s lobby card, so it is certainly an extreme rarity! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good to fine.
