Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) New York - By Heck!, the 1918 silent animation animated cartoon comedy short ("As conceived by H. Mayer. The world famous caricaturist"). Note that Hy Mayer was a political cartoonist for newspapers and magazines, and we would be very curious about this film. Newspaper ads called this "A comedy fantasy by America's famous caricaturist". If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This poster has been professionally linenbacked. It now looks great, and most dealers would describe it as "fine (or mint) on linen". We have noted the defects that were restored below (and feel everyone should always do this!). Many collectors would not be aware of the restoration this poster has had unless it was specifically shown to them! Condition: very good to fine. The poster has had minimal restoration along the foldlines. It had been folded an extra time prior to linenbacking, but almost all the folds have basically vanished!. Most of the linenbacked posters we sell were restored by the finest professionals. An expertly linenbacked poster will often appear "mint", as its defects have been made to "vanish".
