An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Mitzi Gaynor (born Francesca Marlene de Czanyi von Gerber) was a mostly musical actress from the 1950s to the 1960s. Her mother was a dancer, and her father was a violinist and music director, and she definitely inherited all their talent! She moved to Hollywood when she was 11 and devoted herself to dancing and by 13, she was singing and dancing with the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera. At 17, she lied about her age and signed a 7 year contract with 20th Century-Fox. Some of her movies include: South Pacific, There's No Business Like Show Business, Les Girls, We're Not Married!, and The Joker Is Wild. In the mid 1950s, she stopped making movies and performed a lot on television, on awards shows, and also had a nightclub variety act. In the 1960s, she became a featured columnist for The Hollywood Reporter and had a stage show called The Mitzi Gaynor Show from the 1970s to the 1980s. In 2006, her husband of 52 years passed away, and Mitzi passed away in 2024 at the age of 93 Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Mitzi Gaynor! Note that our consignor purchased a collection of autographed stills that were collected by Leonard Sorgi, who was a unit manager for ABC for shows like The Soupy Sales Show, The Jerry Mahony Show, and many others. He was also Unit Manager for the Academy Awards for a number of years, and during his long and varied career, he met many celebrities and obtained autographs from them in person (often personalized to him).
