An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) What a Guy, the 1948 all-black-cast comedy ("with the stars of 'Anna Lucasta' in the laff comedy of the year!") starring Mantan Moreland, Monte Hawley, Lawrence Criner, Ruby Dee (she is pictured twice on the lobby card, with her name under the artwork image of her!), Jouhn Bouie, and Laurence Criner. Note that a knowledgeable collector tell us that this movie, along with three other Moreland vehicles, was produced by Lucky Star Productions. The problem with race films was finding exhibitors to get the product in appropriate theaters for intended viewers. Toddy had a lot of experience in this and a positive image with the African-American movie theater circuit, so this film went out under the Toddy banner for maximum exposure. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still has an image of one of the posters or newspaper ads from the movie! Such stills are far more rare than stills which show scenes from the movie! Condition: very good to fine. The center of the bottom border is slightly "wavy", likely due to a paper clip.
