An Example of Original Italian Concept Art (2 pieces, see below; measures 8 1/2" x 13" [22 x 33 cm]) (Learn More) Amico, stammi lontano almeno un palmo (released in the U.S. in 1978 as "Ben and Charlie" or "Amigo, Stay Away"), the 1971 Michele Lupo Italian/French cowboy spaghetti western comedy ("Brawlin'... blastin'... boozin'... They made the West go W-I-L-D!!") starring Giuliano Gemma (in the title role as Ben), George Eastman (in the title role as Charlie), Marisa Mell, Vittorio Congia, Giacomo Rossi-Stuart, Luciano Catenacci. Apparently, this movie was possibly going to be released in English language countries as "Grand Canyon", because we have seen Italian concept art with that title. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of nine really cool examples of Italian concept art we were consigned. Each measures 8 1/2" x 13", and each consists of two pieces. One has the colored background and the title and credits at the bottom, and the other is a sheet of flexible plastic that has artwork drawn on it that can be overlaid onto the other piece. Obviously, the Italian distributor had several concept art examples created, so that they could pick the one they wanted, and by creating it this way, the artist only had to draw the art and not the title, credits, or background. We have provided an image of each of the two pieces, along with an image of the two overlapped, so you can see both how each piece looks separately and how it was intended to be displayed. Each of the nine has different art from what the Italian posters eventually looked like, so these are obviously alternate designs that were not used (and we suspect have never been pictured anywhere, until now)! Note that this is actual original artwork that was drawn onto the plastic, and it is not any sort of reproduction, although the other piece has been printed. If anyone knows more about these, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: very good. There are some scuffs in the solid black areas of the artwork piece. Otherwise, both pieces are in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
