An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (measures 15" x 22"; 8 pages) (Learn More) The Phantom Rider, the 1936 Ray Taylor cowboy western serial ("The mystery man of the plains rides again!"; "15 chapters thrill packed with dangerous adventures!") starring Buck Jones (in the title role as Buck Grant), Marla Shelton, Diana Gibson, Harry Woods, Joey Ray, Eddie Gribbon, Helen Shipman, Frank LaRue, and George Cooper. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. water stains near the top center and bottom center of the image and also in the lower right border. These stains are on all pages, to varying degrees. The pressbook is also folded in half and there is separation at the right end of all pages. There are creases and smudges around the edges of the pressbook This item is in "lesser" condition (what many dealers would describe as "good" or "good to very good", or in the case of items with major defects, which should be easily seen on our large images, "fair")! It has clear defects, which are likely to be very noticeable in our "large" or "super-sized" images that you can click on from our small image at right (although some of the defects may not be so easily seen in the images). Therefore, in addition to the images, we have also noted in words what these defects are in our "Description of Defects" section above. We know that some collectors could accept this item's defects, and display it as is, and we also know that many collectors would only be happy with this item if they had it restored, so please do not bid on it unless you can accept it as it is, or are willing to pay to have it properly restored.
