eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 7d319 COURAGE OF LASSIE LC #5 '46 Frank Morgan defends the famous Collie in courtroom! Date Sold 3/3/2013Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #5 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Courage of Lassie, the 1946 Fred M. Wilcox canine Collie dog family melodrama sequel (written by Lionel Houser) starring Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Morgan, Tom Drake, Lassie ("Lassie in a new adventure"), Selena Royle, Harry Davenport, George Cleveland, Catherine McLeod, Morris Ankrum, William Wallace, Minor Watson, and Carl 'Alfalfa' Switzer. Note that Elizabeth Taylor had been 7th billed in "Lassie Come Home" in 1943, and had otherwise only had three uncredited roles, but "National Velvet" in 1945 made her a major star, and so she was top billed in this sequel to "Lassie Come Home" made the following year. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this great card shows Frank Morgan defending a muzzled Lassie, explaining that "he's been changed by the war, just as many men have been changed". What is even odder is that Lassie is clearly intended to be a female dog, so the caption writer wasn't paying much attention! Condition: very good to fine. There are two tiny pinholes in the center of the top border, with a small crease beneath them. There are a few faint smudges around the edges of the card. Otherwise, it is in nice condition! Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
