An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) An Adventuress, the 1920 Fred J. Balshofer silent romantic melodrama ("A Balshofer Production" from Republic Pictures) starring Julian Eltinge, Frederick Ko Vertical, William Clifford, Leo White, Virginia Rappe, Rudolph Valentino (billed as "Rodolph Valentino"), and Alma Francis. Of course, Julian Eltinge was a legendary cross dresser ("drag queen") and actor from the 1900s to the 1940s (he was one of the first and most famous cross dressers to appear in "mainstream" stage productions and movies). Note that Virginia Rappe is legendary in the movie business, because she was the actress with Fatty Arbuckle at the infamous "wild party"! There are disputes as to what occurred at the party, but it is clear that Rappe died soon after of injuries sustained at the party, and that this scandal finished Arbuckle's career as a major star!
