An Original Vintage Theatrical Jumbo Window Card Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) Handy Andy, the 1934 David Butler romantic screwball comedy ("Fun - Romance - Thrills with WILL A Country Druggist"; "It's greater than 'David Harum'"; "More fun than ever!"; "Based on the play 'Merry Andrew' by Lewis Beach"; about a small town druggist married to a woman who wants bigger and better things, and she gets him to go on an expensive vacation where a gigolo romances her while he plays golf, and her husband becomes insanely jealous and ends up in jail) starring Will Rogers (in the title role as Andrew 'Andy' Yates), Peggy Wood, Conchita Montenegro, Mary Carlisle, Roger Imhof, and Robert Taylor (eternally youthful male star of the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s; this was his very first movie, and he was sixth billed!) Co." of Mason City, Iowa, and is not a studio-issued poster. There were many companies in the 1930s that printed alternate posters for use by theaters. Sometimes those posters were less expensive than the regular studio posters, and they were also much in demand when a theater needed posters in a hurry, for no theater wanted to show movies without displaying posters! Condition: good. There is a line of major smudging across the center of the title area, and similar smudges across the bottom 4" of the poster (it seems likely that this was caused by posters being stacked on top of each other too quickly after printing, and is likely a printing defect). There are creases, smudges, small tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
