An Original Vintage Unfolded World War I Poster (measures 5" x 30" [13 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) Fourth Liberty Loan, the 1918 U.S. World War I (WWI) War Bonds poster ("Is your name on the honor roll?") encouraging people to purchase war bonds to help the war efforts. There were 4 Liberty Bonds from 1917 to 1918, followed by a Victory Liberty bond in 1919. The U.S. Treasury defaulted on the fourth in the 1930s and refused to redeem the bond in gold, and neither did it account for the devaluation of the dollar. The Supreme Court later declared this unconstitutional but the court said the loss was not quantifiable so the ruling had little effect. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. The poster is somewhat brittle and there are some 4" and smaller tears scattered throughout. The poster is otherwise in generally nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
