A Group of 2 Autographed Claim Forms (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]) (Learn More) Rosalind Russell (born Catherine Rosalind Russell) was an actress from the 1930s to the 1970s. Her middle name, which she used when she performed, came from the name of a ship! She was far from an overnight success. She did not start acting in movies until she was 27, and for several years, she was used by MGM to keep Myrna Loy from demanding more money! She mostly had secondary parts. In 1939, her skill at comedy was discovered when she played one of the leads in The Women, and that led to her role in His Girl Friday, playing a part written for a man. She alternated between making movies and appearing on the stage, and she had great success on both with Auntie Mame (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film). Some of her other movies include: Sister Kenny (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), My Sister Eileen (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), and Mourning Becomes Electra (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film). She passed away in 1976 at the age of 69. Important Added Info: Note that both of these claim forms has been personally autographed (signed) by Rosalind Russell! These are claim forms that Rosalind Russell submitted in 1962 to get reimbursed for when her son Lance Brisson went to the doctor. One form is complete, and on the other, someone ripped away approximately one-quarter of the form, which is the portion that has Russell's signature. Also included is a Blue Cross identification card for Miss Russell from 7/1/61. Note that one form and the ID card both have Miss Russell's social security number on them, and we have placed a white box over that number in each of our images, but of course, the actual items do not have those white boxes. Our consignor obtained this autograph from a reputable autograph dealer and he (and we) believe the autograph to be authentic. Condition: good to very good. As noted above, one of the forms was torn to the one-quarter of it that has Miss Russell's signature. The other form is in pretty nice condition (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
