Date Sold 9/1/2024 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 100 unfolded Belgian reproduction posters from All About Eve, the classic 1950 Joseph L. Mankiewicz (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) New York City Broadway stage acting romantic love triangle melodrama ("It's all about women. and their men!"; produced by Darryl F. Zanuck; about a New York stage actress who gets a protege who secretly schemes to take her place, both on stage and off; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Bette Davis (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; as Margo Channing), Anne Baxter (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Eve Harrington), George Sanders (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Addison DeWitt), Celeste Holm (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Gary Merrill, Hugh Marlowe, Thelma Ritter (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Marilyn Monroe, Gregory Ratoff, Barbara Bates, and Walter Hampton. Note that Marilyn Monroe had a small role in this movie, early in her career, but as usual, she was noticed, and she appears on several of the posters! Measurements: 16" x 20"Note that this poster is a REPRODUCTION and is not an original poster and it measures larger than the original poster. But it is higher quality than the vast majority of reproductions! It was one of a set of 10 that was created in the 1990s by a man in the movie business and they measure 16" x 20". Each of those were printed on a higher quality thicker paper stock than "regular" Belgian posters, and the printing quality is quite nice (see our image). When they were made, they retailed for $25 each, or $200 for the set of 10. Over the past few years, we have auctioned some of these as sets and some of these as singles, and the buyers of those often resell them on eBay or Facebook for much higher amounts. NOW, THE CONSIGNOR OF THESE WANTS US TO AUCTION THESE IN LARGE QUANTITIES OF EACH, AND WE ARE AUCTIONING 100 OF EACH OF THE 10 REPROS (in 10 separate auctions), AND THERE WILL BE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE WINNING BIDDERS TO MAKE A LOT OF PROFIT RESELLING THESE! IMPORTANT! The lot contains multiple examples of the same poster, so we have only pictured one (as well as the front and back of the envelope they are all in), but the winner of this auction receives all of them! Condition: very good to fine. We have only pictured one of the REPRODUCTIONS , but all of them are in similar condition.
