An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Command Performance, the 1931 Walter Lang royalty mistaken identity romantic melodrama ("A Royal Romance"; "From the play --- by C. Stafford Dickens"; a really wacky story of an actor who is arrested in an unnamed European country, and it is discovered that he looks exactly like the Prince of the country who is supposed to marry the Princess of a neighboring country, but the Prince doesn't want to, so he sends the actor to propose in his place, and of course, the actor and the Princess fall in love, and then there is even more silliness, and at the end, the Prince leaves and the actor takes his place as the new Prince, and is married to the Princess) starring Neil Hamilton (in a dual role as both the Prince and the actor), Una Merkel, Helen Ware, Albert Gran, Lawrence Grant, Thelma Todd, and Mischa Auer. Note that Thelma Todd had a minor role in the movie, playing the leading lady of the actor at the beginning. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that a knowledgeable collector believes that the actress on this lobby likely is Una Merkel, but another collector tells us he thinks it is not. We feel certain it is NOT Thelma Todd. If anyone knows for certain who this actress is, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good. There are pinholes in the corners and tiny paper loss in the middle of the left border. The card has an odd printing defect, which resulted in the middle left credits area to be incredibly faint (likely one entire color was left out from the printing).
