8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Queen of Outer Space, the 1958 Edward Bernds science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy space adventure thriller ("26 Million Miles Through The Unknown Universe -- To The Indescribable Terrors and Beauties of Planet Venus!"; "Mankind's First Fantastic Flight to Venus -- the Female Planet!"; "From a story by Ben Hecht"; "Screenplay by Charles Beaumont") starring Zsa Zsa Gabor (often mistaken for playing the title role!), Eric Fleming, Dave Willock, Laurie Mitchell (in the title role as Queen Yllana), Lisa Davis, and Paul Birch. Note that Ben Hecht, who is given credit for the story, and Charles Beaumont, credited with the screenplay, were two of the most talented writers ever to work in Hollywood. So how did they end up working on this low budget cheesy grade Z movie? Legend has it that Hecht told the story at a party, and someone who overheard it started making a movie of it, and Hecht heard about it and demanded screen credit! As to Charles Beaumont, it surely was the low point of his otherwise illustrious career!

Condition: good to very good. Card #1 has the tiniest pair of staple holes in the upper center blank border and light edge wear only. Card #2 has a few faint smudges and scuff marks at upper center of the inset image and some tiny pinholes in the blank borders. There is some pen drawing on the back that shows through to the front only in some areas of blank paper. Card #3 has pinholes and smudges around the edges with a few tiny pinholes at center. Card #4 has a few minor border defects and some creases at bottom (it is in "very good" condition). Card #5 has faded and has some smudges in Gabor's face in the inset image. There are pinholes around the edges and each was repaired with tape from the back (see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of that particular card.) Card #6 has tiny pairs of staple holes around the edges and card #7 has smudges, pinholes and some scuff marks around the edges. Card #8 has some thin scuff marks in portions of the center inset image and some tiny pinholes around the edges. There are pieces of tape on back at let and right (and there is some tape on back of card #1 and each piece of tape on both were not put there for any restoration purpose, typical of vintage lobby cards.) This card has some light surface paper loss on back near those pieces of tape due to rough removal. Most of the cards (with the exception of card #5) has survived generally in pretty nice condition, and see our super-sized images and read our condition description to get a really good sense of the condition of each individual card prior to placing a bid.
