Zanuck; about an Englishman who joins the French Foreign Legion because he has taken the blame for a crime his brother committed, and he has to contend with a ruthless commanding officer, and he has to choose between a sleazy nightclub singer and a refined Englishwoman) starring Ronald Colman, Claudette Colbert, Victor McLaglen, Rosalind Russell, Gregory Ratoff, Nigel Bruce, C. Henry Gordon, Herbert Mundin, Francis McDonald, John Carradine (his scenes were deleted), "and a cast of 10,000" NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that while John Carradine's scenes were deleted, he still appears in some lobby cards and stills (such as this one). Note that this photolobby has been trimmed and it now measures 11" x 13 3/4" [28 x 35 cm]. Also note that on this movie, 20th Century Fox solely issued a "photolobby" set with glossier color scenes from the movie. We have no idea why 20th Century-Fox did this, but it seems to be something they experimented with in the 1930s and early 1940s on certain movies (sometimes they would issue a regular lobby card set plus a color-glos set as well). Condition: good. Most of the right border was trimmed off. There are stains in parts of the borders. There is a slight partial horizontal crease across the lower part of the image (it is around 8" long, and truly faint). See our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this card.
