An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Chapter #18 (The Lost Inheritance) One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) King of the Circus, the 1920 J.P. McGowan Universal silent circus adventure serial ("Oh, Boy! What A Thriller!!"; "The Greatest Serial of All Time"; "It's a Universal!") starring Eddie Polo, Corrine Porter, Kittoria Beveridge, Harry Madison, Charles Fortune, and J.P. McGowan. Note that oddly we could not find anything about this serial, beyond the cast. The rare one-sheets we have auctioned have great images, both with circus themes and with underwater chase scenes, so we would love to know more about this serial. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this is a "lost" serial film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. Important Added Info: Note that until six months ago we had never auctioned a poster from this serial. At that time we were consigned three chapter one-sheets. We auctioned one in July and it sold for $975. We auctioned the second in September and it sold for $765. We auctioned a third in November and it sold for $1,850 (all of those three posters were from different chapters with completely different images). Now we are offering two one-sheets (in two separate auctions) from different chapters than the above three, and again, these have wonderful different images! We have auctioned one of each example, and for all we know, they may be the only surviving examples of each of these posters. Condition: very good. The poster has small separation and tiny paper loss at the top two crossfolds and slightly paper loss at the bottom crossfold with small separation at he top and bottom vertical fold. Otherwise the poster has survived in about as good condition as one could have hoped (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
