Zanuck's Hollywood Cavalcade, the 1939 Irving Cummings & Malcolm St. Clair Los Angeles California movie acting romantic melodrama ("The romance of Hollywood from bathing beauties to world premieres!"; "Story by Hilary Lynn and Brown Holmes"; "Based upon an original idea by Lou Breslow"; "Screen Play by Ernest Pascal"; "Photographed in Technicolor"; produced by Darryl F. Zanuck; a highly fictionalized history of early Hollywood and silent movies, with Ameche playing a composite of Mack Sennett and D.W. Griffith, with Alice Faye playing a composite of Mabel Normand and Gloria Swanson, and the movie culminates with the first talking pictures, and it basically bears no real relationship to what actually occurred, but it is highly entertaining, and has great cameos from many of the best silent stars, including the billed ones, and also Al Jolson, Mack Sennett, and Rin Tin Tin Jr.!) starring Alice Faye, Don Ameche, J.
