An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Beyond Victory, the 1931 John S. Robertson romantic World War I (WWI) anti-war military melodrama ("Lies the dream of man's desire"; about four battle-weary American soldiers under fire who reflect on the women they've left behind) starring William Boyd (billed as "Bill Boyd"), James Gleason, Zasu Pitts, Lew Cody, Marion Shilling, Mary Carr, Lissi Arna, Russell Gleason, Theodore Von Eltz, Fred Scott, Frank Reicher, and Thelma Todd. Note that Mary Carr became a major star in the mid 1910s around the age of 40, playing the parts of saintly mothers. She continued to make movies (switching to grandmother roles) through the mid 1930s, and then continued with mostly uncredited parts until the mid 1950s. She passed away in 1973 at the age of 99! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
