An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Bright Victory (released in other English-speaking countries as "Lights Out"), the 1951 Mark Robson romantic blindness post-World War II veteran race relations melodrama ("Based on the best-selling book 'Lights Out' a novel by Baynard Kendrick"; "The love story of today's generation!"; "The great living love story of today's generation!"; about a soldier who is blinded in World War II, and who returns home and realizes his former fiance no longer wants him, and in rehab, he makes a best friend who is black, and he doesn't realize it, but he is a Southerner whose family is prejudiced, and he falls in love with his nurse, and everything works out pretty well!) starring Arthur Kennedy (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Peggy Dow, James Edwards, Will Geer, John Hudson, Julie Adams (billed as "Julia Adams"), and Jim Backus NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and some small paper loss on parts of the folds, with pinholes and some stains around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
