An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded English Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures approximately 41" x 85") (Learn More)

The Petal on the Current (also released as "A Mother's Child"), the 1919 Tod Browning silent courtroom legal lawyer romantic melodrama ("The Six Reel Drama"; "Adapted from Fanny Hurst's greatest story 'The Girl Who Broke Her Mother's Heart'"; note that Fannie Hurst's name was misspelled on the English poster as "Fanny Hurst") starring Mary Maclaren, Gertrude Claire, Fritzi Ridgeway, Robert Anderson, and Beatrice Burnham. Note that director Tod Browning made many of these melodramas in the 1910s, but in the early 1920s, he had the great fortune to begin working with Lon Chaney Sr, and made many wonderful movies with him, and then of course, after Chaney's untimely death, he made "Dracula" and "Freaks"!. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: This English three-sheet was printed in 3 sections. Note that the three sections of the poster are EXTREMELY fragile, and they were only partially folded, to the point where the folded poster now measures roughly 22" x 28". We will not attempt to re-fold the poster completely, because it is far too fragile for that, and instead will send the poster in a large flat package that measures approximately 24" x 30". This package will cost more to send, so please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept the added shipping cost!

Condition: good. The poster is very fragile, and someone put white conservation tape on the back of most of the foldlines. There are small areas of paper loss on some foldlines and in parts of the blank borders. The poster absolutely needs to be professionally linenbacked, but once it is, it will look great, and it will only have a relatively small amount of paint restoration in the image.
