An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Grand Hotel, the 1932 Edmund Goulding Berlin Germany all-star group-of-very-different-people-gather-at-the-world's-most-luxurious-hotel-and-have-romance-and-intrigue melodrama ("The greatest attraction in stage or screen history!"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Greta Garbo, John Barrymore, Joan Crawford, Wallace Beery, Lionel Barrymore (in the memorable role of an ordinary man who learns he is dying, so he takes his life savings and spends a final holiday at the best hotel in the world!), Lewis Stone, Jean Hersholt, Ferdinand Gottschalk, Rafaela Ottiano, Frank Conroy, and Rafaela Ottiano NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of three wonderful "Grand Hotel" candid stills we were consigned! Each shows a different view of the opulent lobby set that was constructed for the premiere of the movie at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. The Hollywood stars attending would sign the "lobby book" as if they were checking into a hotel! One shows a huge crowd roped off with cameras in the foreground, and Clark Gable with his wife and Norma Shearer. The second shows the top stars including Garbo, both Barrymores, Crawford, Beery, and Lewis Stone (who seem to have been edited into the photo), crew, lighting and camera setup for the premiere. The third shows a far shot of the lobby desk with the entrance in the distance, and many people observing. Also note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm].
