An Original Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded English Six-Sheet Movie Poster (measure 40" x 88 1/2") (Learn More)

The Black Cat, the 1941 Albert S. Rogell Universal inheritance horror mystery crime melodrama ("suggested by the story by Edgar Allen Poe"; about a rich old lady who is nearing the end of her life, and her greedy relatives show up ready to inherit, and one is not willing to wait any longer) starring Basil Rathbone, Hugh Herbert, Broderick Crawford (billed as "Brod Crawford"), Bela Lugosi, Gale Sondergaard, Anne Gwynne, Gladys Coopers, Cecilia Loftus, Claire Dodd, John Eldredge, and Alan Ladd (who had a tiny part, but was billed prominently in the movie's 1948 reissue, because he had risen to stardom in the interim!). Note that Universal had also made a movie with this name in 1934 with Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi, but this movie is not a remake of that movie.

Important Added Info: IMPORTANT NOTICE: The poster we are selling was printed on the back of sections of large posters that were apparently not used, and the printer saved money by printing on the back of those! This particular poster was printed on the back of a section of a "The Black Cat" English six-sheet, with Basil Rathbone and Broderick Crawford, and on the back of a small section of an English six-sheet from an unknown movie, with an English stage play three-sheet from Robinson Crusoe on the reverse side (of course, it is also possible that the Robinson Crusoe three-sheet was printed on the back of unused sections of those English six-sheets!; we have no way of knowing which side was printed first). If anyone knows more about why these posters were printed on the back of each other, and which came first, please e-mail us and we will post it here. WE HAVE PICTURED BOTH SIDES OF THE POSTER, BUT YOU ARE OF COURSE PURCHASING ONE POSTER (the Robinson Crusoe complete poster is pictured at right, and the two incomplete posters are pictured at left)! WE ARE ALSO SELLING TWO OTHER EXAMPLES OF THIS SAME ROBINSON CRUSOE POSTER, BUT WITH DIFFERENT POSTERS PRINTED ON THE BACK, AND THOSE ARE IDENTIFIED ON THOSE LISTINGS! This English six-sheet was printed in 2 sections. This three-sheet poster was tri-folded only (which means there is one less vertical machine fold than usual). This means the poster has a significantly lesser number of folds than with three-sheets folded in the "regular" way, which is nice! Tri-folded three-sheets need to be sent in an oversized flat package, which measures roughly 12" x 32" x 1" high, so they cost more to send than regularly folded three-sheets, especially if they are sent to non-U.S. addresses.

Condition: fine. The poster was clearly never used and is in excellent condition!
