Somerset Maugham") starring Rita Hayworth (in the title role as Sadie Thompson), Jose Ferrer, Aldo Ray, Russell Collins, Diosa Costello, Charles Bronson (in his second credited movie role!), and Henry Slate. Note that there was an silent version of this movie in 1928 under the title "Sadie Thompson", starring Gloria Swanson and Lionel Barrymore, and a sound version of this movie, under the title "Rain" in 1932, starring Joan Crawford, and Walter Huston! Also note that this movie was filmed in Hawaii on Kauhi Hanelei Pier, Lamahai Beach, Coco Palms, Kalapaks, and the former Charles Rice home. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the back of this card was overprinted with a solid rectangular pattern. This was commonly done in the 1950s so that old lobby cards could be re-used as "frames" for 8x10 stills. This IS an original lobby card. Also note that this movie was originally in 3-D. The studios created both 3D and 2D posters and lobby cards (the 2-D posters and lobby cards were for theaters that lacked the 3-D equipment). This lobby card is from the "3-D" release. Condition: good to very good. When a still was attached to the back of the card , someone cut four diagonal slits in each corner of the image, and cut out a small triangle area by each slit. They put the corners of the still into each slit from the back of the card. There were four triangular areas of paper loss in each corner of the image, but someone performed restoration to those areas and filled in the paper loss and painted the front white to "even out" its appearance.
