An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Dr. Kildare's Victory (released internationally as "The Doctor and the Debutante"), the 1941 W.S. Van Dyke (billed as "Major W.S. Van Dyke II") hospital medical doctor melodrama sequel ("Thriller #9 The Case of the Glamorous Debutante"; "Screen play by Harry Ruskin and Willis Goldbeck"; one of the very popular series of movies featuring this character and his crusty old mentor, Dr. Gillespie) starring Lew Ayres (in the title role as Doctor Kildare), Lionel Barrymore (as Doctor Gillespie), Ann Ayars (as the debutante Cynthia 'Cookie' Charles), Robert Sterling, Jean Rogers, Alma Kruger, Kirby Grant, and Nell Craig. Note that this was the last of the 'Dr. Kildare' movies starring Lew Ayres. Ayres had declared himself a conscientious objector to World War II (WWII), he was blacklisted in Hollywood. He went on to change his status to 'non-combatant', serving as a medic in the South Pacific, as well as a chaplain's aid in New Guinea and the Philippines. There is a 4" vertical tear in the background to the right of the nurse at top left and a matching 4" vertical tear in the left of the bottom foldline.
