An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) The West Point Story (released outside the U.S. as "Fine and Dandy", probably because "West Point" did not mean much to non-U.S. audiences), the 1950 Roy Del Ruth New York military school academy cadet musical ("It's Another Dandy!"; "Not since Warner Bros'. 'Yankee Doodle Dandy,' such a colors-flying parade of pleasure!"; "It's the first time Jimmy's been seen in anything like this since 'Yankee Doodle Dandy'!"; "The New Warner Bros. Dandy! A Song-Spangled Colors-Flying Salute to Uncle Sam's own cadets!"; "From the producers of 'Yankee Doodle Dandy' comes a colors-flying 21-gun salute to Uncle Sam's own cadets! The biggest parade of song and gladness in 10 years!"; "Dandier than 'Yankee Doodle Dandy'!"; "It's Mr. Yankee Doodle himself singing and dancing again!"; "From a story by Irving Wallce"; "Original Songs by Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn") starring James Cagney, Virginia Mayo, Doris Day, Gordon MacRae, Gene Nelson, and Alan Hale Jr. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still was consigned to us by legendary collector/dealer Marty Davis! Marty was hired in 1972 to evaluate the entire collection of W. Ward Marsh (1893-1971), who was the film critic for the Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper from 1919, until his retirement in 1970. In 1919 Marsh wrote his first of 23,000 movie reviews for the Plain Dealer. Marsh died less than a year after his retirement in 1970. His library, and photographic and memorabilia archives were given to the proprietor of Cleveland's finest bookstore. Marty Davis was the first person with a background in film history and collectibles to examine the archives. He worked for three to four hours a day, for six months, and his compensation was his pick of the archives. This still (and the other stills that carry this paragraph) are from the W. Ward Marsh archives, and all were stamped on the back by Marty Davis to indicate that they came from this legendary collection. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
