A Vintage Theatrical Folded Globe Poster Printing One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28 1/4" x 41 1/4" [72 x 105 cm]) (Learn More) Mis-Mated, the 1956 (based on newspaper ads) sexploitation movie ("She couldn't understand why her husband left her! He thought his manhood was enough to make him a successful husband!"; "Its frankness, its revealing, scenes are startling, restricted to adults only"; "Complete! Uncut! Uncensored!"; "Scenes formerly restricted to medical books... Now on the screen for the first time!"; "Not a dope, disease, or baby film, scenes never seen before"; "This film is so Unusual and intimate, details are too obvious to print!"; "You owe it to your marriage to see this unique film presentation"; "Made possible by the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling!"). Note that, as with many sexploitation movies from this era, this film stayed in continuous "roadshow" first release for years. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one like this for this title in all our years of auctioning! It was printed by Globe Poster of Baltimore, Maryland. They printed a lot of posters for exploitation movies that played in small theaters around the country in the 1940s and 1950s, and some of that same basic art as this poster, but they have different titles and taglines at upper right (including for the movie "Reefer Madness!). Note that in recent months we auctioned a collection of sexploitation one-sheets that included many rare titles from a single collector, and we recently auctioned the last of that collection. NOW, we have been consigned a different collection which includes even more very rarely seen titles! In recent sets of auctions we auctioned groups of one-sheets from this new collection, and this month there are 144 different ones (all are in separate auctions), and they include a number of posters that we have only auctioned once or twice before. There are also a number with great images or taglines. This is an excellent opportunity to add one or more of these rare one-sheets to your collection, and, like the previous collection we auctioned, this consignor also only had one of each title, so on the rare ones, it may be quite some time before we offer the same title again! Condition: good. The poster has fold edge and crossfold separation in the lower half and there are several scuffs and smudges along portions of the folds and and edges, and there are some scuffs scattered in the poster (see our image). There is some blank paper loss along portions of the left edge and at upper right. After proper restoration the very rare poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it. Learn More about condition grades
