An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Danish Movie Poster (measures 21 1/2" x 34 1/2") (Learn More) The Tiger's Cub, the 1920 Charles Giblyn Alaska adventure crime melodrama ("from the Great Stage Success by George Goodchild") starring Pearl White (in the title role as Tiger's Cub), Thomas Carrigan, Jack Baston, John Davidson, and Frank Evans. Note that Pearl White is of course the most famous female silent serial star, but after many injuries from her roles, she decided that she wanted to quit serials, and she turned to "serious acting", but she became addicted to painkillers and alcohol after she was injured on the set of The Perils of Pauline. She retired in 1924 and passed away in 1938, when she was just 49. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This Danish poster has had its blank borders trimmed and now measures 21 1/2" x 34 1/2" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had surface paper loss in the lower right of the image and also in the bottom of the letters "RL" in "PEARL" at the top of the poster. There were pinholes, creases, tears, and a few small stains around the edges of the poster. The person who backed the poster backed it on to a very thin linen, and did no restoration. I would suggest that the new buyer of the poster strongly consider having the poster properly re-backed. After restoration of its basically minor defects (and the restorer could add the missing blank borders if desired), the poster would look great, and there would be little actual paint restoration on it!
