Artist: Joseph Smith Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this 1960 first release teaser one-sheet (as opposed to dozens of the "regular" one-sheet). We don't know why this poster is so rare, but we suspect it was only sent to major theaters that were showing the movie on its very first run, because that would explain why we have never auctioned it before. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had fine surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines (typical of high-gloss posters of this period). It also had creases, scuffs, and some tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the folds, with an extra light horizontal fold 3/4" above the regular middle fold. It had tiny paper loss in the background to the right of the "N" of "BEN". Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
