An Original Vintage Autographed Color 8" x 11" [20 x 28 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Evel Knievel was one of the most famous daredevil/stuntman most notable for doing long motorcycle jumps. There was a movie biography of his life in 1977 naturally starring himself (because no one else could have done the stunts!). Probably his most famous stunt was one that failed completely, which was attempting to jump the Snake River Canyon! Legend says he broke a total of 433 bones over his career, a world record if true! He passed away in 2007 at the age of 69. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Evel Knievel! Note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! Also note that this still measures 8" x 11" [20 x 28 cm]. About the Collection this Item Comes From Note that this item (and 36 others we are auctioning this week, each in its own auction) was consigned to us by a man who purchased the collection of a dedicated collector, who was a major film buff from the 1950s through the 1990s. He would purchase stills on stars he liked, and then he would go to events or collectibles shows (he went to virtually every collectibles show where stars appeared!), and he would get the items autographed, and many of his photos were personalized to him with nice inscriptions, because over time many of the celebrities who regularly attended shows came to be friends with him! Over many years he was able to acquire a large number of signed stills, and his collection was purchased by our consignor. In this set of auctions we are auctioning 37 of his autographed items (and we will auction others in future "all signed" auctions). We feel certain that the autographs on these items are authentic!
