An Original Vintage Autographed Airline Ticket Receipt (measures 3 1/4" x 7 1/2" [8 x 19 cm]) (Learn More) Tom Smothers was a stand-up comedian and actor from the 1970s to the 2020s. Some of his movies include: The Informant!, Silver Bears, and Premium. Together with his brother Dick, they formed The Smothers Brothers, and they had a very influential TV show that showcased the top talent of that time, but the show was canceled due to frequent conflicts with censors. In their comedy act, Tom played the "dumb" brother, but in actuality, he was a great businessman! He passed away in 2023 at the age of 86. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Tom Smothers! This is the receipt from Hughes Airwest that Mr. Smothers (who signed as "T.B. Smothers") normally would have kept, but he gave it to our consignor (who worked for an airline in Las Vegas). In addition, he gave our consignor the carbon from his credit card receipt, which has a carbon copy of Mr. Smothers' signature (it is interesting to note that the credit card was in the name of of "Smothers Brothers" and that it said "Thomas B. Smothers" under it). Our consignor would often meet celebrities flying in and out of Las Vegas, and he acquired these autographs in person when he met these celebrities. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
