Rain, the classic 1932 Lewis Milestone minister-tries-to-reform-prostitute-with-predictable-results melodrama ("A woman without shame. A woman without a soul."; "You men are all alike! Pigs! Pigs! I wouldn't trust one of you!"; "From the story by W. Somerset Maugham") starring Joan Crawford (as Sadie Thompson; "By courtesy of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Corp."), Walter Huston, Guy Kibbee, Walter Catlett, Beulah Bondi, Matt Moore, and William Gargan. Note that this story had been filmed as a silent movie called "Sadie Thompson" with Gloria Swanson, and was later re-made as "Miss Sadie Thompson" with Rita Hayworth.
