A 1949 Realart Re-Release Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven, the classic 1935 Lew Landers (billed as "Louis Friedlander") Universal plastic surgery horror thriller ("An adaption of Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven"; VERY loosely based on the famous poem by Edgar Allan Poe; about a crazy plastic surgeon who saves a girl's life, but is rejected by her so he mutilates the face of a criminal to have him kidnap the girl after which he promises to restore the criminal's face!) starring Boris Karloff ("The uncanny master of make-up in a new amazing shocker"), Bela Lugosi (billed as "Bela 'Dracula' Lugosi"), Irene Ware, Lester Matthews, Inez Courtney, Samuel S. Hinds, Ian Wolfe, Spencer Charters, Maidel Turner, and Arthur Hoyt. Note that this is one of the only movies that feature both of the greatest horror actors EVER, Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi TOGETHER, and just about everyone agrees is a wonderful movie, and quite a few (including myself) think it is the BEST of the movies these two giants made together! Some pre-1970 insert posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 insert posters (note that most post-1970 inserts were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those inserts). Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has smudges around the edges and in the white background areas at the top. It has some small tears in the borders that have tape on the back, and a 3" uneven tear in the lower left border with tape on the back. Apparently, they changed the NSS number for this re-release after these inserts were printed, because someone lightly crossed out the original NSS number with black grease pencil and stamped a new one above it (we have seen a different example of this poster and that has the same correction, but on that one, the printed NSS number was more blacked out).
