If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was issued in two different ways in 1977. One poster was a regular teaser poster, with a black background and grey text and borders. The other looks exactly the same, except the "W" in "Star Wars" has points at the bottom, which is only seen in very early promotional material, and the poster was printed on a foil coated paper with the black printed over the foil! It is INCREDIBLY difficult to photograph foil posters (and other reflective surfaces), so know that the unevenness and reflection in the image we provide is in the photograph, and is NOT in the poster itself While both posters are very desired by Star Wars collectors, the foil version is more desirable, and it is very difficult to find in even fairly good condition (because the foil scuffs so easily). This auction is for the FOIL style version. Condition: very good. The poster has some tiny creases and scuffs in the silver borders, typical of these foil posters. It has a 5" horizontal crease in the lower left border, with two smaller creases beneath it. There is an 8" horizontal crease in the lower right border and a 6" horizontal crease in the right border that enters the bottom of the "R" of "SUMMER". There is a 4" horizontal crease near the middle of the left border, entering into the black background and a 7" horizontal crease in the middle of the right border, entering the bottom of the "Y". There are some smaller or fainter horizontal creases around the edges, and a few tiny creases and scuffs scattered in the poster. I go into such great detail on the defects both because this is a very rare and desirable poster, but this poster truly has survived in about as good condition as other examples of this foil poster I have seen, and no one has attempted any restoration.
