Lewis California waterfront silk smuggling detective crime mystery thriller ("'Falcon' faces 'Murder King'!"; "Smuggled silk snares 4 to DEATH!"; "Based on the character created by Michael Arlen") starring Tom Conway (in the title role as "The Falcon"), Rita Corday, Sharyn Moffett, Edward Brophy, Robert Armstrong, and Jason Robards Sr. Note that this is one of twelve movies that starred Tom Conway as The Falcon. In the first three movies, George Sanders (who had previously played "The Saint" in a series of movies) played The Falcon, but he apparently tired of the role, and wanted to leave, and instead of ending the series, or having a new actor play the role, he passed it on to Tom Conway in the fourth movie, "The Falcon's Brother" (they played brothers in the movie and in real life they were brothers!) in a clever move, the script had George Sanders' character killed, and his brother, played by Tom Conway, shows up and solves his murder, and becomes the "new" Falcon; and Conway went on to make a total of twelve Falcon movies. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor fold and border wear, and pinholes in the corners. It had numbers written in pen on the back of the vertical foldline and they bleed through to the front in Conway's cheek (the part on the vertical foldline). Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but you can see slight signs of the bleed-through in Conway's cheek described above (but any restorer could touch up that area without re-backing the poster).
