Date Sold 1/12/2010Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Attack of the Crab Monsters, the 1957 Roger Corman science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy horror thriller ("From the depths of the sea... A Tidal Wave of Terror!") starring Richard Garland, Pamela Duncan, Russell Johnson, Leslie Bradley, and Mel Welles. Note that while this is certainly far from a classic movie, its posters have some of the very best imagery of ANY of the 1950s horror/sci-fi movies! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this really cool and desirable poster is rarely ever offered for sale! Please know that this is the exact same example of this poster that we auctioned on December 3rd. The high bidder on that poster told us that he WOULD have paid for the poster out of his auction proceeds from another auction house, but that they did not pay him as promised, and therefore he had to cancel this purchase. That is why it is again offered, and any of you who missed out on this the first time have a rare "second chance" to try for it once again. I am already envious of the new owner of this really cool poster! Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the middle crossfold and someone used clear tape to put a tiny piece of paper on the back of the middle crossfold and also a piece of clear tape on the back of the bottom crossfold. They also put 10" of clear tape on the back of the middle foldline beginning at the middle crossfold, mending tiny vertical tears and 6" of tape on the back of the middle of the left half of the middle crossfold, mending small tears in that foldline. There was a 1" tear in the bottom left blank corner (caused by the rough removal of a pin), and slight surface paper loss in each blank corner where the poster had once been taped to a wall. Other than the above noted defects, the poster is generally in quite nice condition, with a "crisp" feel to it, as though it was only used once and then stored away. Certainly, a talented linenbacker can remove the clear tape from the back and after restoration of the above minor defects the poster will look fantastic with little paint restoration in the image, although I can certainly imagine many people displaying this great poster just as it is!
