Note that Warner Bros. purchased the rights to these characters in 1934, and this was the historic very first movie in the long running series. There were three more Perry Mason movies that Warren William starred in. There were two other movies in the 1930s with other actors in the lead role (Ricardo Cortez and Donald Woods), and then of course, there was the classic TV show from 1957 to 1966 with Raymond Burr playing Perry Mason.
