Date Sold 8/3/2021 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 4 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The War Horse, the 1927 Lambert Hillyer silent World War I (WWI) melodrama ("A cowboy and his faithful steed on the Western Front") starring Buck Jones, Lola Todd, Lloyd Whitlock, Stanley Taylor, and Yola d'Avril. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: fair to good. The cards have varying amounts of spotty discoloration scattered throughout and some border defects.
