An Original Vintage Theatrical English Movie Program (measures 5" x 8" [13 x 20 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) The Song of Songs, the 1933 Rouben Mamoulian romantic love triangle melodrama ("Thrill to the new Dietrich! - the woman of flame and desire!"; "From the story by Hermann Sudermann and the play by Edward Sheldon"; about a social climbing German peasant girl who falls in love with a sculptor and poses for a nude statue, but then she marries a rich baron because the sculptor won't commit; it is an unhappy marriage, and she leaves her husband and becomes a cabaret singer, sinking lower and lower before finally reuniting with her true love, the sculptor) starring Marlene Dietrich, Brian Aherne, Hardie Albright, Lionel Atwill, and Alison Skipworth. Note that actor Richard Bennett was originally cast in the role that eventually went to Lionel Atwill, and advertising was prepared crediting Bennett! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Each has either four pages of six pages, and are from the Paramount Theatre Leeds, and they have really cool illustrated ads for classic movies!
