Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette (known in the United States simply as Lafayette) was a French aristocrat and military officer who fought in the American Revolutionary War, commanding American troops in several battles, including the Siege of Yorktown. After returning to France, he was a key figure in the French Revolution of 1789 and the July Revolution of 1830. He is sometimes known as "The Hero of the Two Worlds" for his accomplishments in the service of both France and the United States. Artist: Constantin Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has a few creases around the edges and there is a small patch of very slight discoloration at upper right due to exposure to moisture (see our image). It is not very noticeable or distracting, and otherwise it is in pretty good condition and after a pretty simple linenbacking the poster will look great! Learn More about condition grades
