An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 8" x 11" [20 x 28 cm]; 7 pages) (Learn More) The Heir of the Ages, the 1917 Edward LeSaint silent romantic love triangle family relationship fantasy melodrama ("By William Addison Lathrop"; the movie has two different sections with the same actors; in one, they are in caveman times, and two brothers are in love with the same woman, and the stronger brother sacrifices his life for his weaker brother, and then in the second section, it is set in then-modern times, where they pretty much replay the same story, except there is now a fire that causes the one brother to lose his life) starring House Peters, Eugene Pallette, Nina Byron, John Burton, and Henry A. Barrows. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned this pressbook, but the person who purchased it has reconsigned it, so it is still the only example we have ever auctioned (but realize that this is one of the very earliest pressbooks known to exist, and it does not contain ANY poster images)! Also note that this is one of a pretty remarkable group of 12 incredibly rare pressbooks that date from 1917 to 1920! This is from the time period when pressbooks were first made, and it is even before the time that inserts or half-sheets were made! Pressbooks from this time period are among the rarest movie paper collectibles there are. These were all consigned to us from a man who collected for many decades, and it is a far greater number of pressbooks from this period than we have ever auctioned in all our years of auctioning! Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners received pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. There are many stains scattered on the front cover, and the back cover has slightly darkened. Learn More about condition grades
