eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 8g094 MOTION PICTURE CLASSIC magazine June 1931, art of sexy Anita Page by Marland Stone! Date Sold 11/8/2009Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Magazine (measures approximately 8 1/2" x 11 1/4") (Learn More) Motion Picture Classic, one of the many movie magazines sold to the public. It was one of the major magazines of the 1910s to the 1930s. Each issue features a great full color cover of a leading star of the day, plus lots of interior publicity stories about current stars and movies with many black and white images throughout. Also, in every issue are many wonderful vintage ads, and sometimes the ads can be just as much fun as the original stories and pictures. Of course, some of the ads are from movies that were about to open, and in the early days of eBay, people would remove those full-page ads and auction them by themselves, and they would often sell for $10, $20, or more, just for a single movie ad removed from a magazine just like this! Note that this magazine looks exactly like "Motion Picture" magazine, which was also published in the 1910s and 1920s. The two magazines were published by the same publisher, starting in 1915. "Motion Picture" was published on the first of the month, and the other, "Motion Picture Classic" was published on the 15th of each month. Note that Motion Picture Classic was called "Motion Picture Supplement" for the first three issues, and then it was called "Motion Picture Classic", and in the early 1920s, the "Motion Picture" was dropped, and it became just "Classic" (it had the tagline "Pictorial of Screen and Stage", indicating that they were covering Broadway as well; in May of 1925, it combined with another similar magazine called "Beauty"; in 1925, the "Motion Picture" was put back in the title, likely because they dropped their Broadway coverage and became solely a Hollywood magazine). Important Added Info: Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine in the top left of our image, a picture of the table of contents page in the top right of our image, and a picture of one interior two-page spread in the bottom of our image (chosen pretty much at random!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: good to very good. There are two small tape repairs on the spine. Please note that we have attempted to check to see if the magazine is complete and uncut, and we believe that it is. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazine. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images. Please bid (or not bid) based on that overall grade and by viewing the super-sized images. Learn More about condition grades
