An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 5 1/4" x 7" [13 x 18 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More)

Womanhood, the Glory of the Nation, the 1917 J. Stuart Blackton & William P.S. Earle silent World War I (WWI) fantasy propaganda thriller ("J. Stuart Blackton's Soul-Stirring Production"; filmed during World War I, about an enemy attack on New York City, which leaves the city in ruins, but the bulk of the movie deals with the aftermath of the attack) starring Alice Joyce, Harry T. Morey, Naomi Childers, Joseph Kilgour, Malter McGrail, "And an All Star Vitagraph Cast". Apparently this movie was intended to "wake up" Americans to the realities of warfare and that an enemy could attack on their shores (the movie was prophetic, but the attack took place 84 years later!). Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this herald, and the buyer of that example has now reconsigned it to us, so this is still the only example of this herald we have ever auctioned!
