Appears in John Wayne Movie Posters at Auction CATALOG SOLD OUT The image at right appears in the auction catalog we published as shown above and was sold long ago and we do NOT have it available for purchase. An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Riders of Destiny, the 1933 Robert N. Bradbury romantic cowboy western ("A great western star in a Whirlwind of Action!") starring John Wayne (as Singin' Sandy), Cecilia Parker, Forrest Taylor, George 'Gabby' Hayes, Al St. John (billed as "Al 'Fuzzy' St. John"), and Yakima Canutt. Note that this was the beginning of the era of "singing cowboys", and they tried to make Big John one of them by calling his character "Singin' Sandy" and having him sing a (obviously dubbed in) song, but fortunately, they didn't persist in this effort! This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good to very good. The borders of the poster had tears, creases, pinholes, and some small areas of paper loss. There were pinholes and tears at the top center of the image and there was small paper loss at each crossfold. There were some tears and tiny areas of paper loss on some foldlines. The poster was quite nicely restored, and you can see signs of the restoration from inches away, but from any distance the poster really looks quite nice! Learn More about condition grades
