Date Sold 10/26/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical English Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Conquest of Everest, the 1953 George Lowe English Nepal/Tibet Himalayas mountain climbing hiking sports documentary ("The Supreme Adventure of Our Time!"; "The 1953 Expedition with Hunt, Hillary and Tensing"; about the first successful ascent of Mt. Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tensing Norgay) narrated by Meredith Edwards. Note that the expedition was led by English Army Officer John Hunt, but he did not make the final ascent to the top of the mountain, and for that reason, his name is pretty much lost to history, although he got top billing over Hillary and "Tensing" (which is how they billed Tensing Norgay, the Nepalese Sherpa who led them to the top of the mountain) on the English posters, which were made right after the event occurred. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these are very rare "country of origin" lobby cards for this English movie! The last time we have auctioned any lobby cards for this title was in 2010. Condition: good to very good. Each has pinholes, tape stains, creases and/or other tiny defects around the edges (see our images). Most have some light creases scattered in various areas. Please see our super-sized images to get a good sense of the condition of these very rare cards prior to placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
