An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Hobson's Choice, the classic 1954 David Lean English dad-versus-daughters romantic melodrama ("The Critics' Choice!"; "Rollicking! Rowdy! Irresistible! It's everybody's choice!"; "Screenplay by David Lean, Norman Spencer and Wynyard Browne"; "'Mr. Loughton is at the very top of his form.'") starring Charles Laughton (in the title role as Henry Horatio Hobson), John Mills, Brenda De Banzie, Daphne Anderson, Prunella Scales, and John Laurie NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Al Hirschfeld Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had small holes at the crossfolds, minor wear on the foldlines and tears, creases, and tiny paper loss around the edges. The person who restored the poster did a good job of touching up the above basically minor defects. Overall, the poster looks nice, and the restoration is only noticeable from inches away.
