An Undated (probably 1940s) Re-Release Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

One Big Mistake, the 1940 black African American musical slapstick comedy short ("It's a laugh riot!"; "A Supreme Picture 'The Life of Your Program'"; "A Featurette") starring Dewey 'Pigmeat' Markham, Lillian Randolph, Johnny Taylor, Monte Hawley, and Millie Monroe. Note that this movie was first released by A.W. Hackel, and then Toddy pictures re-released it at some point in the 1940s. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this movie was first released by A.W. Hackel, and they created a one-sheet for it (at least). We have auctioned that poster. This poster is almost identical to that poster except that Toddy Pictures is now credited as the distributor, indicating that Toddy bought the rights to distribute it at some point in the 1940s, and they created this slightly changed one-sheet for this re-release.

Condition: fair. There is significant paper loss in the left of the "B" in "BIG" in the title and in a matching area 10" below which affects the writing (the top paper loss can be hard to see because the poster was photographed against a black wall. There is also a 11" tear in the middle of the right of the poster that extends through the center of the man's face. There are pinholes, tears and some small paper loss around the edges. The poster is in urgent need of professional restoration, so bear this in mind before bidding on it.
